Indian Cartoon Gallery exhibited some of the fabulous caricatures of Cartoonist/Artist/Caricaturist Nanjunda Swamy , so had an opportunity to present with my work of his caricature on the inauguration of the exhibition.


This is me presenting the caricature work while you can see on the backdrop the awesome works of caricature of Nanjunda Swamy sir. Also in the pic from left to right are :

RK Laxman was one of cartooning legend in India , his political cartoons are still eternal and of course the illustrations for Malgudi Days just feels that indeed Malgudi place existed. Here is a small tribute to the legend

Digital Caricature - Sir MV

"ವಿಶ್ವೇಶ್ವರಯ್ಯ ಅವರು ಬೀದಿ ದೀಪದಲ್ಲಿ ಓದುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು, ನೀವು ಇದ್ದೀರಾ" - Translation "Sir MV used to study in street lights and look at you !!" was the most common thing heard at my home growing up and am sure most common in everyone home in Karnataka growing up , always inspiring to just look at him , Sir MV 🙏🏾

Digital Caricature - Uncle Pai

Ananth Pai fondly known as "Uncle" Pai - is pioneer in Indian comics , he kind immortalized the Indian Mythology with book series Amar Chitra Katha among kids. Also loved his Children comic book Tinkle which had some lovely characters such Shikari Shambu, Supandi, Kalia the crow, Tantri the Mantri etc., here is a caricature dedication to the Indian comics legend.

His Directorial skills still unmatched in Kannada Film Industry, arguably the first to introduce Slow Mo song sequence in movies 🎥🙏🏾

Cartoon - All is well !

News cropped up about how World's largest selling Biscuit company is on brink of cutting down 10,000 jobs due to economic slow down in India.

Well did this cartoon on funny aspect as to show how even people priority has changed as well - free internet is something wanted in every part of life, be it travelling, be it eating in restaurants OR even sipping your fav beverage of Coffee, Tea OR some beer as well :)



  

Digital Caricature - Cellist Mstislav Rostropovich

Did this caricature for FB Caricature contest - Cellist Mstislav Rostropovich from Russia. And this was experiment of sorts cause I had been using SketchBook in iPad and was contemplating to change over to ProCreate App - so this was my full attempt meaning a complete work in ProCreate. Must say was impressed with the tool and the options it provides.

Karnataka woke up to a shock when the missing Entrepreneur VG Siddartha was confirmed to be dead and reason was he had committed suicide.

VG Siddartha was known as Coffee King and had setup Cafe Coffee Day a chain coffee outlet

With constant change in Government and the Chief Minister ok Karnataka it is situation that it is difficult question to answer 😄
English Translation : Please God ! let there be any question expect for "who is our chief minister" ?

Karnataka is making name for its mockery of the political crisis - ever since SC ordered for Floor test to prove majority - both the ruling and opposition party have been running around the throne of forming Government and the floor test is getting delayed on pretext of Debate in Assembly , here is a funny take on the same.

so FaceApp has created a hype with age filter where you can see yourself with an aged photo. So did this as my funny take.

Well Congress MLA are deflecting to join BJP as they feel that BJP is strong in Centre with no development happening in State. So here is a funny take on this situation from yours truly !

Well apparently in Karnataka most the MLA's are taking advantage of the political crisis by resigning from the coalition government of Cong-JDS. Few of the Resignation was not in order as per Speaker so took a funny dig at it !

Well the craze is on to open the bottle cap using the feet - thought will come up with funny interpretation from a Cartoonist angle !

We have now atleast 3 and 1/2 Wicket keeper batsmen in the line up this World Cup, but back in 1983 there was just this prolific Wicket Keeper Batsman and just gave a "Thanos touch" to the Caricature 😅👍🏾

Maya Kamat Political Cartoon Award 2018

Year on Year Maya Kamat Political Cartoon Award has grown leaps and bound to attract cartoonists all over India and Globe. This year was my first official entry into this competition. And I was thrilled to see one my entry making it to 50 pick from Cartoonist all over India.

The Award ceremony took place on July 6th 2019 and got to see my work displayed. This really inspires me to work more on my Political Cartoon.

Well all good things come to an end - so did the series Big Bang Theory. Would have loved to caricature every character of the series , which i plan to during this year. Started off with eccentric genius Dr Sheldon Copper !

Contesting in the FB caricature contest , this time it was the Surreal Artist and multi-talented Salvador Dali. I had to come up with a surreal caricature as a tribute to this man and hence this "Spidey-Dali"

Cartoon - No Me-h Me-h please

2019 elections in India has seen a huge spurt in parties throwing brick-brats against each other to sway voters to vote them. But it turned to all new level one person did a MEME about Chief Minister of West Bengal . The person was arrested - though the MEME had no disrespect to anyone.

The person arrested did get huge support from social media platform and eventually was released ONLY when Supreme Court of India had to intervene.

So, here is cartoon of course in funny angle.

So, Cartoonist's from Karnataka got together to create Caricature Spirit contest and the very first personality to caricature for the contest was Late Dr. Satish Sringeri. Dr Satish was Ayurveda practitioner and also eminent cartoonist among India. He is also elder brother to Cartoonist Raghupati Sringeri.





And while I did this caricature did capture the time lapse video as below.

Words come short to describe about this man and his stature , lovingly called Annavaru (meaning Big Brother). While is not present with us today but his legacy will be eternal and forever !

Cartoon - An eye for eye

Not that I feel great doing cartoons which has some disturbing news associated with it. Recently we had terrorist attacks on Sri Lanka which has been devastating in terms of human causalities and also the timing of it - Easter morning when everyone had occasion to rejoice it turned out to be otherwise. And also people around the globe who had traveled to Sri Lanka for tourism also were effected badly.  I Hope sense prevails over the world and there is Peace among everyone on earth.

Reading the updates got to know that the terrorists did this cruel act to avenge the terrorist attack on Mosque in New Zealand. And hence this cartoon a eye for eye makes whole world blind.

Took part in Cartoon Watch competition for theme - "Significance of Reading Books" , though didn't win any awards but was happy to participate. Help me keeps my mind ticking to come out with a cartoon for the give theme. Hope to participate more in the contests.

This time in the FB Caricature spirit contest it was Jim Carrey - one of the famous Actor and Comedian from Hollywood. The caricature was inspired from one of his hilarious character in "Dumb and Dumber" movie , for me as a teenager growing up loved watching his comedy movies.

Apperently there has been reports that one of the MLA and also state minister has been carrying lemons to ward off evil spirits during the election campaign of LokShaba Elections 2019 and hence here is a funny take

Starting this year wanted to Caricature inspirational women more , but with no time support it didn't take off. Just yesterday started to sketch this and again wasn't able to complete it in time - but today seeing pics of the noble lady receiving her Padma Shri had to complete it ! "Mother of Trees" 🙏🏾

Saalu Marada Thimmakka gets the name Mother of Trees because of planting tree on a four kilometres stretch

MLA Revanna who is sometimes known for his unorthodox way of speaking in interview apparently took a dig at Mrs.Sumalatha Ambreesh who is rigorously campaigning in Mandya for General Assembly elections 2019. 

Mrs.Sumalatha Ambreesh who has said would contest as independent candidate if not given party ticket from Congress. As Congress and JDS are under coalition government, JDS is pushing for its own candidate Nikhil who is son of Chief Minister Kumaraswamy to contest from Mandya.

So with all this happening Mr.Revanna in an interview has quoted saying "Mrs.Sumalatha Ambreesh instead of mourning the death of her SuperStar husband Ambreesh is pushing for elections" this statement didn't go down well within public and is been said that its a sexist remark. And hence is my funny take.
